Firematic Supply Co., Inc was incorporated in the State
of New York by Hermann Schmidt to sell and service fire extinguishers and
fire department supplies. He also provided 24-hour breathing air and oxygen
service. There was only one employee. |

New owner, Mike Hanratty, focuses on excellent service and
the expansion of customer base and product line. |
1971 |
Firematic enters the fire truck business, becoming the Long
Island dealer for Imperial Fire Apparatus. |

Appointed one of the original Hurst
Jaws of Life distributors, covering Suffolk County. |
1973 |
Hurst expands Firematic’s territory to include all of Long
Island and New York City. |

Firematic accepts dealership for Sutphen Fire Apparatus,
manufacturer of a new type aerial device called a Tower Ladder. |

Moves from rented 800sq.ft. facility to owned 2500 sq. ft.
facility on Main Street, Yaphank. |

Firematic serves fire departments from Montauk Point to
New York City, representing Sutphen, Hurst and an increasing number of

Firematic accepts Long Island dealership for Pierce
Mfg. Inc., an up-and-coming fire apparatus manufacturer from Appleton,
Wisconsin. |

Firematic’s Hurst territory expands into Massachusetts
and Rhode Island. |

Pierce sales explode. Equipment sales continue to grow. |

moves to a new 18,000 sq. ft. sales and service facility in East Yaphank (Shirley), NY. |

Pierce
expands Firematic’s dealership to include the State of CT. Firematic
opens a new 17,000 sq. ft. sales and service facility in Rocky Hill, CT.
